So Far, So Good...

Well, the new site's been up for a week now and so far, so good.

I really appreciate all of your feedback and for those of you who posted articles I give you a "DOUBLE THANK YOU". You're really helping us enhance the site and catch all the little bugs we missed before launch.

I hope you've been enjoying the new site thus far, we're still working on some of the features so hang in there, it'll get better!

I'd like to know, straight up, don't pull any punches -- what do you think of the site? How does it stack up against other sites out there? What do you think is missing?

And here's a question I really want you to think about, if there was one thing that we could add to the site tomorrow that would completely knock your socks off and make you fall in love with Tycoon forever, what would it be?

I know it's a weird/tough question, but really think about it. Because if I sat down and really racked my brain I could think about several features I like about my favorite sites like Google, GMail, Facebook, etc. But there's always that ONE feature that I absolutely LOVE and couldn't live without.

So that's your next assignment, think of the one "GOTTA LOVE IT" feature and share it here on the blog -- brainstorm with other members if you'd like, I'm sure you can come up with something truly spectacular...and believe me when I say that if you'd LOVE to use it, we'd LOVE to develop it!

I don't know if this is a GOTTA LOVE IT feature, but it almost feels like a GOTTA HAVE IT feature.

While the search functionality is great, it would be nice to have some sort of list of all articles (member and editor submitted, or a separate list for each) to browse. Especially with member submitted articles, if more than 3 get submitted between the last time I checked the most recent articles and the next time, I won't be able to go read it unless it made it into the most popular or most discussed sections.

It sometimes seems that I can get to a list for the user generated articles by using some links after clicking on a specific article, but it would be nice to be able to get there directly from the front page.

I'd like to see a section for very short QUESTIONS / ANSWERS; the type of questions that can be answered in one or two sentences. Example: What is really the difference between a stock and a bond?

P.S. I sent you a critique in a "reply email" - it was rather long and I didn't think it should be published; hope it finds its way to your office. OVERALL, I like the new Tycoon Report / website.

Wayne
As I said to you before, I'm not real computer seve. So I'm not sure how my views stack with the others. I was unable to post my article, as you know. But over all I really like the new look of the site. As far as "can't live without"...can't think of anything, but I will tell you that one reason I came to your site and the main reason I stay with Tycoon is because you guys give good quality investment teaching without trying to ram advertiments down my throat! Please don't change that!!

I've figured out a way to post member articles. Hopefully it will work for you.

1) Make sure you are not logged into the website. Look at the top right hand corner. If it shows your name or email, you're logged in and need to log out. If you see a link to log in, you're okay.

2) Click the link to submit an article, fill in the title and article and whatnot, and click the Next>> button. If you are not logged in, you should get a screen asking you to log in. Do so now.

Before I figured this out and was logged into the website before trying to submit the article, when I clicked the Next>> button, nothing would happen, and it appeared that I got a javascript error. I've given Wayne this feedback, and I'm sure they're looking into it.

3) Fill in your profile information (it doesn't seem to pull it up even if you've filled it out before). Click submit.

4) You'll be told to wait for an email to arrive. When it does, follow the link it contains to verify that a person submitted the article, and that's it!

FYI, posting while being logged into the website now works too.
